First live-show in… forever.

This week sees me walk on to the stage and perform [facebook-event] for a group of people for the first time since 2005. Granted, it is not a show of my own. I am going to be a part of the new 047 album, Elva, release gig, as I am singing on one of the tracks.
Do not feel nervous just yet, but think I might. Not only because it has been a long time since I performed, but also because I will not have a guitar (or drums for that matter) covering me, so to speak. Just me and a mic.

If you are in Gothenburg, Sweden on the 10:th of June, do pop by.

Up and running?

Have not visited the admin page of my blog; this blog for quite some time.
Now that I do, all looks different. Going to take some getting used to.
I’ll try to write more stuff here. It’s been a though spring. Now life seems to be settling down a bit. Which is for the better.

Back soon!

Lyric Writing.

For the past couple of months I’ve been trying to write lyrics. I’ve never had writers block like this. Or, I don’t know if I have writers block now. Everything I write, every sentence, even word, either feels overused; done, or just icky. I’m jumping from song to song, trying to get things done. I have a chorus here, a verse, or half a verse there. Can’t complete a thing.
Super frustrating. There’s an album to get done!

Recording with 047.

Yes, following our song ‘Let You Go and remembering the ease with which it was created, the guys in 047 and I decided to record some more. So, today, I was over at their place and recorded the basics for two tracks. (As I talked about in this interview.) When these two songs will be finished and where they will pop up (if at all) remains to be seen.

Back to ‘Let You Go’; here’s some of the places where you can find it:

YouTube, Vimeo, Last.fm, Sound Cloud, Spotify, iTunes, Amazon, WiMP.
Released via Killing Music.

Let You Go!

Today sees the release of 047 (feat. Tomas Halberstad)’s new single ‘Let You Go’!
The single is a collaboration between the guys in 047 and myself. We think it turned out super! And, we hope you do to.
The song is released via Killing Music and will, as of today, be available in all major digital music outlets.

Enjoy!

Or, if your vimeo-kind-of person. Here’s a link to the video on vimeo!

Pure Volume = Dead.

Today I deleted my Pure Volume page. For those of you who do not know what Pure Volume is, and honestly, I’m guessing that’s most of you, it’s a service much like My Space. (Another page I will be deleting soon.)
Why did I delete it? Well, it sucked. Did not give me, or my artistry anything. I mean, I have no aversion against social medias, or networks, but enough is enough. If I were to sign up for every social media; network thing I’d do nothing else.

It, the deleting, is also yet another step in cleaning up; streamlining my presence here on the Internet.
Call it a strategy if you will.

Deleted and Crap.

I’ve now deleted my blog I’m Thinking! I’m Thinking!
I started that blog in order to write study, student and research related stuff there. That has not happened. Nor, will it… obviously. That stuff will, as before, turn up here. As will all most of my Internet-outlettings. I will, bit by bit, change this site to some sort of super-feed. Much like my about.me-page; one page where you can reach all. Right now, I’ve only managed to include my Twitter- and Flickr-feeds. (That’s because those are the only ones allowed/provided by WordPress’ widget-thingy.) I hope that will change. I hope to get in tough with someone who can help me with this.

So, from now on: No more wondering which blog to put my stuff on, ending up putting it on none. More ramblings here. Enjoy! And, this weekend I’ll post an evaluation on the ‘social-sites’ I signed up for. Stay tuned!

New Album…

…but no, not ‘the’ new album.

Next week, or the week after that, I’ll release a new album. It’s an instrumental album, an electronic album. Initially I’ll release it over at my Sound Cloud-profile then we’ll see. It will feature a cover made by the one and only Stooss.

This album won’t be for everyone. But then again, my music rarely is.

So, check back here, or on my Twitter-account, or on my Last.Fm-profile.

GSME™.

I am summing up my thoughts on the great social media experiment which I have conducted over the passed couple of months. Needless to say, it’s been a complete and utter failure. Not without good things coming from in though. I think I now know what to do, need to figure out how to do it.

I’ll get back to you on all.

I’m Sorry and Recording and…

First off: I’m sorry for the poor state this blog is in. Truly looks awful. I will look into it. Get it sorted. Soon. Not now though. It’s Christmas-time. Lots to do.

Yesterday I recorded some vocals for a song that I’ve co-written with the guys in 047. The song will most likely feature on an upcoming EP of theirs. I don’t know when or how, but when I do I’ll let you know.

As for my own album: we’re working on it! Rough-mixes are dropping into my mailbox by the day and soon I’ll have them all (10 of them). Then we’ll start fixing things, recording some more tracks, recording vocals a.s.o. Aiming for a September release. (Too optimistic?)

Lars-Martin and I have started talking about doing some music together under a joint name. We’re probably heading in to the studio in January to see if we can get started. The idea is, if we want to record big drums, we record big drums… kind of. Any progress or result on that, and I’ll let you know.

That’s about it.

Merry Christmas everybody!

2:nd Rough-Rough!

Today I got the second (of ten) rough-rough-mixes (yeah, that’s what we’re calling them) of a song from the upcoming album. As I said on Twitter, it’s Tom Petty all over the place. You’re going to be surprised when you here the end result.

When I got the first mix I was in doubt and a bit in disbelief; was this what we had done? What have we done!? A.s.o. Now, when the second mix dropped in, all feels really well. It’s going to sound great! Super stoked.

You’ll hear it soon enough.

This is what is up.

A (official) creative hiatus along with a pile of stuff to do in school has led to me neglecting you all for a bit. Might also be apart of my new web strategy. When I have something to tell, I’ll tell it. If you need your daily fix I suggest you follow me on Twitter. I have som ideas on what to do with this site, implementing a twitter flow better, or perhaps every flow. We’ll see. Hang tight.

The Ball is Rolling… Again.

Late last night I got the first rough-rough-mix (yeah, that’s what we’re calling them), from Rob, of a song to feature on the new; next; upcoming album. Did not really have the possibility to listen to it since my ears, and most other parts of my body, were frozen to a ‘I-CAN’T-FEEL-MY-BODY-HEEEELP-ME’-state. (Camilla and I had been freezing our ass’ off watching the international football friendly between Sweden and Germany.)

I haven’t managed and analyzing listen today either. Schoolwork (and writing blog posts… and going for dog walks) keep me busy. But, somewhere between now and Sunday I’ll get around to having a nice, long sit-down, listening, thinking and taking notes.

However, what I can say from my first listen (where I basically just listened to the song) is: You’re in for a surprise. I’ve gone all farmer on you.

As an islander eventually does I guess.

I’m thinking! I’m thinking!

As part of my new (web) strategy to take over the world, I’ve today started a new blog/site. It’s called I’m Thinking! I’m Thinking!

The reason for this is this: I’ve studied philosophy now for three years, and with at least two more to come, I figured I ought to have an outlet for those thoughts.

So, every subject I have written about; filed under studies will now be found under the link above.

Enjoy!

So whats going on…

…with your music? My brother asks.
Not much. Nothing. Was my answer.

That could also be the reason as to why I’m not posting anything here. I mean, when there was a hiatus in music production, before, I bothered you with all kinds of stuff going on in my life. That, I do on Twitter now.

I have some kind of plan for the future web-me. I’m going to make some changes. Stay tuned.

6 years ago today…

…Camilla and I sat on a bus. We had met a couple of months earlier, and a few weeks earlier we had started dating (as they say in the movies). As we sat on that bus, my anxiety got the best of me. I’ve never been much of the dating/in-limbo type. So, then and there, on the bus, Camilla and I went from dating to being a couple. Then we went for asian food.

So today, to celebrate our 6 years together, we’re going for asian food again. (It’s a coincidence, not something we do every year… maybe we should.)

Here’s to us, and to another 6 years (at least)!
I love you.

Last years anniversary; outside the best veggie restaurant we’ve eaten at (so far) Cookies Cream – Berlin. (I know, she’s far too good looking for me. But what the heck, it’s not like I’ll complain.)

Academic Ping-Pong.

I ought to have learnt this by now.
That I don’t need to get stressed out.
That this is the way it works.
But I haven’t.
And, I’m getting.

I am talking of my thesis. The one I’m writing. The fourth one in two years. And it’s always been the same.
First the idea, the problem to tackle, is crystal clear. Then it grows, getting too big. Then I trim, twist, turn to get it down to size. All along with new ideas and solutions popping up, making the thesis go in all sorts of directions, not being able to see the line between problem and conclusion. Then this ‘all over’ start blending with moments of clarity, ping-ponging back and forth, faster shorter until (at least in my mind) clarity wins and the thesis, as by magic, gets finished.

Right now I am at the start of that ping-pong game.
Still stressing out though.
Is it because clarity is not a given winner?
